About

I am an artist and writer currently based in Ames, Iowa. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and recently graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Art from Trinity University in San Antonio. Starting this fall, I will be a TA and MFA student at Iowa State University.

My current specialty in art is painting colorful and expressive portraits and figurative scenes in oil. My paintings are all about light.

Favorite doodle subjects include wizards, skateboarders, birds on telephone wires, and Spock. I also love to draw my dreams, and I am interested in illustrating more books.

My writing has often focused on mental health, trauma, and hope. I dropped out of high school because of a depressive episode and ended up writing and illustrating a book about recovery, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.

Ultimately, I think the purpose of art is to make us all feel a little less alone.
